

Norman D. Dodge, age 91 years, of Marblehead died Thursday morning at his home, surrounded by his family after a lengthy illness. He was the husband of the late Dorothy A. (Stromberg) Dodge with whom he shared 51 years of marriage.
Born in Lynn he was the son of the late Fred and Alice (Sverker) Dodge. He attended Lynn schools and graduated From Lynn Classical High School, Class of 1942. Norm served in the Army Air Corp in the 394th Bomb Squadron as a Staff Sergeant, Armorer Gunner 612, seeing action in the South Pacific during WW II. He was employed as an account executive for H. P. Hood, for many years until he retired in 1990. He was a member of Gannon Golf Club for many years and played in the Valley Rats Group on Weekends, and also played in the 32 Club Golf League on Tuesday nights. He was a member of the Vitori Rocci Post in Beverly, and an associate member of the VFW Post #2005 in Marblehead. He loved to dance and spend time with his children, and grandchildren.
He is survived by two daughters Cynthia Girouard of Marblehead, Deborah and her husband Roland Tyler of Rowley, three grandchildren Jeffrey Dodge of Lawrence, and Travis and Brooklyn Tyler of Rowley. He was also father of the late Ronald D. Dodge. Norm was predeceased by his companion Dorothy O’Neill.
Service Details: Graveside services will be held at the Waterside Cemetery in Marblehead on Thursday at 11:00 AM to which relatives and friends are invited to attend.
