Paul A. Roney

Mr. Paul A. Roney, age 70, of Lynn, passed away on Monday December 1, 2014 after a lengthy illness. He was the son of the late Harold and Pearl (Smart) Roney. A lifelong resident of Lynn, he attended Lynn schools and was a graduate of Lynn Tech High School Class of 1961. After graduating High School, Paul enlisted in the United States Navy where he proudly defended our freedom during the Vietnam Era. He worked as a technician for the Boston Gas Company for many years. He enjoyed drawing free hand and painting, all kinds of animals and Boston sports.

Paul is survived by his former wife Maria (Carito) Roney and his children Paul David Roney, Stephen Roney and his wife Betty, and Denise Roney and her companion Jim Rex. He was the loving Grandfather to Carolyn Roney. Paul was the brother of Earl Roney and his late wife Diane. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Paul’s Funeral Service will be held from the CUFFE-McGINN FUNERAL HOME, 157 Maple Street, Lynn on Saturday at 2:00P. Visitation prior to the service beginning at 12:00PM. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn on Monday at 11AM. Please gather at the Boston St. entrance at 10:45AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Floral arrangements welcome, however, memorial donations in Paul’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472.
