
Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Allan D. and Dorothy A. (Crocker) Stickney. She was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School and also attended the Westfield State School of Nursing.
Pauline worked as a Registered Nurse for many years at the Medfield State Hospital, Chelsea Soldier’s Home, and the Phillips Manor Nursing Home. She later worked in the Laboratory at Union Hospital for 18 years.
Pauline was a longtime volunteer for the American Red Cross, where she ran the Christmas stocking program for needy children. She was also a member of the Friends of Lynn Council on Aging. An active member of the Washington St. Baptist Church, she taught Sunday School for many years and was a member of the Beulah McCoy Group.
Pauline was well known for her baking, especially birthday cakes. She also enjoyed knitting, sewing and helping others whenever she could. Always known as the best bargain shopper, Pauline enjoyed gift giving to her large extended family.
She leaves her dear friend, Linda Rosendahl of Swampcott. She was the sister of Charles Stickney and his wife Mary of Peabody, Arthur Stickney and his wife Charmaine of Gloucester, Bruce Stickney and his wife Lydia of Florida, William Stickney and his wife Anne of Pittsfield, Betty McNeil and her husband Donald of Swampscott and Dorothy Nee of Georgetown. She was the sister of the late Russell, Richard, Robert and Allan Stickney and Charlotte Roland and Barbara Neff. She was also the dear friend of the late Win LeGrow.
Pauline’s Funeral Service will be held in the CUFFE-MCGINN FUNERAL HOME, 157 Maple St. Lynn on Friday at 11:00AM. Relatives and friends invited. Interment Swampscott Cemetery. Visiting Hours Thursday 3-7PM. Donations in Pauline’s memory may be sent to the Friends of Lynn Council on Aging, 8 Silsbee St. Lynn, MA 01901 or the Cocker Spaniel Rescue of New England, PO Box 162, Greenfield, NH 03047.
