Perry Craig Barrasso

August 4, 1964April 15, 2021

Perry C. Barrasso, age 56, a longtime resident of Nahant, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 15, 2021, at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston following a brief illness, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Kerry (Quinn) Barrasso, with whom he shared over 30 wonderful years of marriage.

Born in Salem, MA on August 4, 1964, he was the son of the late Nicholas F. Barrasso and Carol (Craig) Barrasso. He was raised in Danvers and graduated from Danvers High School with the Class of 1982.

Perry was a longtime, hardworking employee at the family business, Quinn of Lynn Insurance Agency, in Lynn. Perry had a contagious smile, and gave the best hugs. Perry loved to golf, vacation with his wife and children, cook and entertain, and he never missed any of his children’s various events, always the proudest spectator.

Perry was a former member of the Nahant Board of Selectmen, current Chairman of the Nahant Board of Assessors, a member of the Nahant Lions, and Kelley Greens Golf Course Inner Club. He coached CYO basketball for many years.

Perry loved to be surrounded by his friends, but especially cherished his family. Along with his dear wife, he is survived by his children, Dr. Kelsey Barrasso of Medford, Shannon Barrasso of Andover, and Craig Barrasso of Nahant; his mother-in-law, Elizabeth “Betty” Quinn of Nahant; his brother and sister-in-laws, Colleen (Quinn) and Paul Sainato of Nahant, and Thomas F. Quinn, III of Nahant, along with several other nieces, nephews and cousins.

Arrangements: Family and friends are invited to call at the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St., Lynn on Thursday, April 22nd from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. A Graveside Service will be held at Greenlawn Cemetery, Nahant, on Friday, April 23rd at 11 a.m. As an expression of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations in Perry’s honor may be made to Hope Beyond Hope, 28 Front Street, Weymouth, MA 02188, or via Venmo to Sherri Duggan, @HopeBeyondHope.

Dear Kerry, Kelsey, Shannon and Craig,
I cannot express how heartbroken I am that you lost your husband and dad and that we lost Perry. Perry was always like the third boy in the Jenkins family. I have so many memories of him that make me smile. One of my favorite memories is when I told him and Danny they could walk to the Northshore Mall with me but only if they wore their matching brown leather sandals,. I bought Danny’s and Carol loved them so much that she bought Perry the same ones. They wanted to go with me so they both wore their sandals and they both ended up with blisters on their feet. They looked pretty good though.
His life was truly blessed by the love that you surrounded him with. I hope that your memories will bring you some comfort in the days ahead.
Rest In Peace Perry, you are so missed.
With Love and Sympathy,
Debbie Selinger

Perry and I developed a close friendship, having worked together for many years. I will always remember him as a generous, giving person, quick to offer help with his time and energy. He had an engaging personality, and was a thoughtful listener. I feel fortunate to have experienced his friendship. I know how much he loved and cherished his family. He will be truly missed.

Dear Shannon, my deepest sympathies and condolences to you and your family during these tough times. I know how hard it is to lose one's father. No words can help but have faith that he has gone to a place where there is no more suffering and he is with God.

I am so saddened to hear about Perry. He was the definition of a good guy and someone that was wonderful to be in the presence of. In 1996 I was lucky enough to go to a school for 30 days with Perry and I enjoyed it very much getting to know Perry. I remember his voice and his smile most of all. After that our lives were full with little kids and work, etc and I never got to develop an ongoing friendship with him . I was hoping that one day soon we could. His loss is painful to me and that is based on 30 days from 25 years ago. All the Barrassos and Quinns are in my heart and thoughts.
