Can anyone relate to the idea that even in great sadness or struggle their can be great joy in ultimate victory.
Well , Ray is in this category .
Ray was a really refreshing person to know! Real and exposed , up front and transparent! Full of life, adventure, victories and tragedies , ironies, embarrassments. He was often fearless when it came to investigating what was true and at the same time childlike in his honesty and expressions about life and circumstances!
I met Ray at the Great Banquet Nortshores #3 sitting at the table of Matthew . For those that do not know about the Great Banquet Retreats they are generally life changing for everyone that attends! You should check it out! This was the case for Ray.
I am so disheartened that Ray has departed and left so many loved ones behind. After the Great Banquet I thought that Ray’s energies, of which he had very much ,would be redirected toward new beginnings.
It was at Great Banquet that Ray came face to face with the Truth about who Jesus the Christ is and what he has accomplished. Ray embraced this new knowledge and if it is possible for anyone who knew Ray to comprehend it Ray became more excited and thoughtful and engaging about the fact that Jesus redeemed him personally and purposefully to eternal life with Him.
Some will understand this and some will not but all I can think of is that song that says “ I will glory in my redeemer ...”
I trust that Ray is doing that right now so be comforted about Ray. For those “in Christ “ we have only been separated for a while ! And then will be reunited.
Truly their are so few people like Ray. Honest and vulnerable flawed and lovable , friendly and beloved.
I New him for a short time but I think I really “ got” him.
To all his family and friends my sincerest condolences. Ray ‘s life here on earth was brave and unique , tragic and glorious, defeated but because of Christ completely victorious !!

It’s very rare you are blessed to engage in this life with a person you know is special!

Ray was that person.

He had a heart and a way about him that was larger than life!

He loved his children more than anyone could ever imagine ~

He loved life~

And he loved Jesus and is now, today is face to face with him in paradise.

Rest In Peace Ray~
