Richard was a lifelong resident of Lynn. He was the son of the late Gunner and Carrie (Barton) Anderson.
Mr. Anderson was a WWII Veteran of the US Navy, serving proudly aboard the USS Duncan. After the war he married the Love of his life Anne and raised their family in Lynn. He and his wife enjoyed family get-togethers, square dancing and good times with their many friends. Richard worked as a machinist at the General Electric Company in the aircraft instruments group, River Works Lynn, West Lynn and at the Wilmington location until his retirement.
In his later years, Richard loved to make family picture albums and he had a passion for collecting Lynn postcards. He enjoyed walking the beach and the company of his friends at Dunkin Donuts every day. He was a member of the Dymax Club, Lynn Historical Societ, and a member of the former Saint Luke’s Methodist Church until it’s closing.
He is survived by his brother, Robert Anderson and his wife Joanne of Saugus; daughter, Sandra Douglas and her husband Alan of Merrimac; son, Richard Anderson and his wife Donna of Merrimac; along with four grandchildren, Ben, Josh, Jess and Ricky and five great-grandchildren, all were the pride and joys of his life. All of us loved him dearly and will miss him forever. But the memories that we keep of him will never leave us.
A Visitation will be held to honor and remember Richard on Wednesday, May 21, from 10 AM to 12 PM in the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn, followed by Graveside Services for family and friends at 12:30 PM, in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn.
