

Richard Arthur Thibodeau, 87, from Peabody, passed away on Friday, February 20, 2026 at Brudnick Center in Peabody. He was born in Lynn, the son of the late Louis A. and Elizabeth (Pendergrace) Thibodeau.
He grew up in Lynn and lived there until 2003 when he moved to Peabody. He was a graduate of Lynn English High School and a veteran of the 101st Airborne Division Army National Guard. He worked as a machinist for GE/Ametek until his retirement. He married Beverly Norris on April 8, 1961, and was happily married for 42 years before losing the love of his life to breast cancer in 2003.
His hobbies included building model airplanes, photography, coin collecting, talking on the CB radio (with the handle of Oscar), and his flower and vegetable garden. He was a lifelong fan of the Boston Bruins, always making a big pot of popcorn for every game. He loved big band music, dancing, and yodeling.
He is survived by his five children: Son Richard A. Thibodeau Jr. and his wife Janey of Methuen, daughter Linda Smith and her husband Kenneth of Peabody, son Mark and his wife Annette of Dixon, California, son Eric and his wife Kim of Beverly, son Wayne and his wife Elizabeth of Lynn, ten grandchildren, one great-grandchild, several nieces and nephews; and one sister of heart, Pamela Tyler of Rochester, New Hampshire.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert and David Thibodeau.
A Memorial Visitation will be held in the Cuffe McGinn Funeral Home in Lynn on Friday, March 6, 2026 from 10-11 AM with a Memorial Service to follow at 11 AM. Friends and relatives are kindly invited to attend.
