Robert "Bob" Despres Sr.

He was born in Lynn, Massachusetts, on August 22, 1950 to the late Emile and Christine Despres. He was one of six siblings. Bob worked as an auto body paint technician at Lynngate Volkswagen for 10 years and was an inspector at the General Electric for over 35 years. He enjoyed painting high end cars and took great pride in his work.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Gail (Carlson) Despres; his children, Sherrill Ellis and her husband Jason and Robert Despres, Jr. and his wife Megan. He had five grandchildren Andrew, Matthew, Joshua, Shelby, and Emilie.

Bob loved Foxwoods, family cookouts, golf, Gold Rush, and spending time with his grandchildren. He never missed a chance to make someone laugh or a good piece of chocolate cake. He will be remembered for his big personality and steady presence.

Relatives & friends are invited to attend visiting hours at Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple St., Lynn on Monday, March 23, from 4 - 7 p.m. At the family’s request, funeral services will be private. The family appreciates your thoughts and prayers during this time.
