

It is with deep sorrow to announce the passing of Bob (Robert) G. MacDonald, of 420 Reservoir Ave, Revere (formerly Lynn MA), who left us peacefully on June 30, 2026, at the age of 89 following a period of declining health.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Elizabeth (Betty) MacDonald, many nieces, nephews and countless friends whose lives he touched.
Born and raised in Cambridge to the late Daniel and Mary Ellen (MacInnis) MacDonald, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Hilda King (Medford), Jerome (Jerry or Mac) MacDonald, Raymond (Buddy) MacDonald and Donna Surprise (Guisti).
Following high school, Bob served in the US Army Infantry 7/30/54-8/8/57, 71st Division – stationed in Alaska with an Honorable discharge.
Bob retired in 2002 after 30 years of employment at Amtrak Railroad as a “car man”, earning respect and admiration for his dedication.
He was a man of warmth, kindness, and humor, whose presence brightened every gathering – especially where music and dancing was involved.
Rest in peace, dear Bob. Your love and laughter will forever remain in our hearts, and your memory will continue to light our lives.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend an intimate graveside service on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at 10:30am at Pine Grove Cemetery, 145 Boston Street, Lynn MA 01904 (meet Cuffe-McGinn staff at Boston Street entrance to be escorted to Bayberry Path).
