Robert "Bob" M. Nauss III

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Mark Nauss III, age 76, of Lynn. Bob passed away at Mass General Hospital on Saturday, July 1, 2023, after a courageous battle from a cardiac event he suffered in May. His devoted wife, Jane (Signor) was holding his hand, and they listened to Elvis Presley as he passed. They shared 41 wonderful years together.

Born in Gloucester, Bob was the son of (the late) Robert and Alice (Donovan) Nauss. He attended Lynn English High School and then went on to serve in the United States Marine Corps. Bob loved classic cars and has been a member of the National Chevy Nomad Club for as long as anyone can remember. He turned this love of cars into a career as an auto mechanic. He worked for Bill Woods Towing, and went on to turn wrenches for the Town of Marblehead for more than 30 years.

He was the devoted father to Robert M. Nauss IV and his wife Keesha of Jacksonville, FL, and Andrew P. Nauss and his wife Barbara of Cape Coral, FL. He was also the step-father to Sean Connolly of Largo, FL, and D.J. Connolly of Lynn, and the late Kristen Connolly, the cherished grandfather of Rylee, Harper, Emerson, Leah, and Jaxson Nauss, step-grandfather of Jeremy Breen and James and Gracie Mulloy and step-great-grandfather of Madilyn Breen, and he was the brother of Joanne Pento. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews here in Massachusetts and in Florida.

Bob enjoyed collecting antique model cars and was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox. He was a member of the Gerry V in Marblehead, and cherished his time spent with family and friends.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, July 7, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the Cuffe- McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn. A service will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the Funeral Home. Interment to immediately follow at Pine Grove Cemetery.
