Mr. Robert E. Smith, age 73 Years, of Danvers, formerly of Hull, died Thursday May 30, at the Hunt Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Danvers after a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Nair (do Carmo) Smith. Born in Somerville, he was the son of the late Norman L. and Anne D. (Holden) Smith. He attended Somerville schools, and attended Northeastern University. Bob was employed as a Security Guard for several Security Firms in the Boston area. He was a volunteer at the National Audubon Society, and was involved in tagging hawks. He is survived by one son Marc Smith of NC, one daughter, Nina Smith-Lindqvist of Marblehead, three brothers James Smith of Panama, David Smith of Somerville, Bruce Smith of Swampscott; four sisters, Norma Julin of Medford, Virginia Kolbe of Kansas, Jeanne Amlaw of Somerville, Lynn Perriello of Somerville, five grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Private services were held on Sunday June 2, in Swampscott.
