Ron was born in Cambridge, son of the late Daniel and Mary (Collins) Abrams. He was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Cambridge. He went onto Boston State College where he received his degree in Business Administration. Ron also graduated from the Advance Banking Program at the University of Oklahoma. He attended Northeastern and Bunker Hill Community College. He was a resident of Marblehead for the past 13 years and previously resided in Malden and Lynn.
He was a Vietnam Air force veteran and held the rank of Sergeant.
He was a Certified Medical Sonographer at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital for many years. He previously was the Chief Loan Officer at the Shawmut Bank.
Ron was very caring person and liked to help people. He was a long time member of the Gerry 5 and the VFW Post 2005 in Marblehead. He was an avid reader, enjoyed watching movies and riding his motorcycle. He was also a dedicated New England Patriots fan.
He was a loving example of caring, kindness and compassion. He truly loved the times shared with family and friends.
In addition to his loving wife Ron is survived by his brothers and sisters Daniel Abrams of Florida, Penny Abrams of Boston, Debra O’Donnell of Illinois, John Abrams and his wife Alison of Vermont and Patricia Abrams of Illinois. He is also survived by his brother in law Forrest MacDonald of Lynn and his two sisters in laws Barbara MacDonald of Marblehead and Janet MacDonald of Salem many nieces and nephews.
Ron’s Funeral will be from the CUFFE-McGINN FUNERAL HOME, 157 MAPLE STREET LYNN, Wednesday at 9:30 AM. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Mary’s Church at 10:30 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 4-7 PM. Interment will be in Waterside Cemetery, Marblehead.
