

Mrs. Rosalie (Deveau) Kurpiel, age 78, of Lynn, died Saturday in a local nursing home following a lengthy illness. She was the beloved wife of Thaddeus L. “Ted” Kurpiel, with whom she shared 55 years of marriage.
Born in Swampscott, Rosalie was the daughter of the late Thomas and Nellie (LeBlanc) Deveau. She attended Lynn Schools and was a graduate of Lynn English High School Class of 1950.
Rosalie spent over 35 years working as a Lunch Aide at the Sewall-Anderson School. She had formerly worked at the GE in Lynn. She was a member of the Amvets Post #161 Auxiliary and the Franco American Vets Post #12 Auxiliary. She was a longtime communicant of Saint Mary’s Church.
Rosalie was an avid bingo player and bowler and enjoyed good times with her family and friends. She thoroughly enjoyed children but above all, was devoted to her 7 children and 13 grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she leaves her children, Walter Kurpiel and his wife Kathi of Ballston Lake, NY, William Kurpiel and his wife Hope of Vienna, VA, Wayne Kurpiel and his wife Debbie of Danvers, Cindy Donovan and her husband Dan of Lynn, Peter Kurpiel and his wife Mary of Lynn, Teddy Kurpiel, Jr. of Lynn and Mary Strzempko and her husband Dave of Holliston. She was the sister of Rosemary Quinn of Quincy and Theresa Gately of Lynn. Also survived by 13 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Rosalie was the sister of the late Eleanor Peters, Leah McGuire, Blanche Donovan and Alice Forand.
Rosalie’s Funeral will be held from the CUFFE-MCGINN FUNERAL HOME, 157 Maple St. Lynn on Thursday at 9:00AM followed by a Funeral Mass in Saint Mary’s Church at 10:00AM. Relatives and friends invited. Interment Pine Grove Cemetery. Visiting Hours Wednesday 4-8PM.
