Stephen P. Newbury

February 11, 1961 – December 24, 2024
Obituary of Stephen P. Newbury
IN THE CARE OF

Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home

Stephen Newbury of Georgetown, Massachusetts, passed away on December 24, 2024, at the age of 63. Beloved husband of Kelly Newbury (Maguire). Devoted father of Victoria (Samuel) Dubin, Alexandria (Alexander) Alessi, and Samantha Newbury. Cherished grandfather of Madeline Eloise Dubin. Dear son of the late Richard and Phyllis Newbury (Gauthier). In addition to his wife, daughters, and granddaughter, Stephen is survived by his brother-in-law Dennis Maguire and Dennis’ wife Allison as well as his sister-in-law Erin Maguire and her children Courtney and Thomas.

Stephen grew up in Lynn, Massachusetts in the Pine Grove area and graduated from Lynn Technical High School in 1979. He served his country as a part of the US National Guard 101st Engineering Battalion until his honorable discharge in 1986. He raised his family and three beautiful daughters in Georgetown, Massachusetts. All three of his daughters have achieved graduate degrees and he was always very proud of the women they have become. Steve worked as a Terminal Operator for Exxon Mobil and worked tirelessly to support his family.

Stephen loved antiquing at Todd Farm, taking his dog, Dublin, to Plum Island, and spending time with his family. He cherished his many trips to Franconia Notch throughout his life and loved the outdoors including fishing, hiking, or shooting with friends and family. He was a creative individual who loved to work with his hands, building everything from bikes to green houses. His spinach pie was legendary and his laughter was always full hearted and contagious. He was an honest, charismatic, and authentic man with a curious mind and many passions throughout his life. The ones who love him will miss him deeply.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Stephen's memory to New England Donor Services at 60 First Ave, Waltham MA.
