Theresa H. LaPorte

Mrs. Theresa H. (Pelosi) LaPorte, age 84, of Revere, died Sunday afternoon in the Kaplan Family Hospice House after a lengthy illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Retired Revere Firefighter Almorse J. “Moe” LaPorte, with whom she shared 56 years of marriage.

Born in Revere, she was the daughter of the late Augustine “Augie” and Margarite (Oliver) Pelosi. She attended Revere Schools and was a graduate of Revere High School Class of 1946. She lived in Revere for most of her life also residing in Groton for a time. She met the love of her life, Moe on July 14, 1946 and knew right away that she would marry him.

Prior to her retirement, Theresa worked as a Secretary for the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company.

Theresa enjoyed wintering in Zephyre Hills, FL, the beach, traveling, gardening, playing cards and loved to cook and have people at her home. Above all, she loved her family.

She leaves her children, Dennis A. LaPorte and his wife Elena of Roslindale, Diane E. Hahn and her husband Richard of Peabody and Denise A. DeStefano and her husband John of East Boston. Loving Grammie of Dennis LaPorte and his wife Misty, Nicole Natti and her husband Jason, Alicia DeStefano and her fiancé Josh Galvin and Derek DeStefano. Cherished Great Grammie to Addison and Gianna. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Cosmo and Francis Pelosi, Camille and Marie Ricciadelli, Reta Durant and Augustine “Gus” Pelosi.

Theresa’s Funeral Service will be held in the Austin Square Baptist Church, corner of Boston St. and Keslar Ave. LYNN Thursday at 11:00AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting Hours in the CUFFE-MCGINN FUNERAL HOME 157 Maple St. Lynn Wednesday from 4-8PM.
