Thomas Bruzzese

Thomas J. Bruzzese, Jr., 65, of Lynn, passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2016. Born in Cambridge, he was the beloved son of Ruth (Johns) McGovern of Lynn and the late Thomas J. Bruzzese and step-son of the late Ronald F. McGovern. Tom graduated from Lynn Classical High School with the Class of 1968. After graduation he entered in the U.S. Marine Corps and served and saw combat in Vietnam during that conflict. He worked for the Federal Archives in Waltham for over 17 years and then as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Malden and Melrose for over 20 years. He was a member of the Franco-American War Veteran’s Post in Lynn and enjoyed playing cards with his friends there every week. Tom was the loving husband of Carol ( Deveau) Bruzzese, the cherished father of Bianca Bruzzese, the dear brother of Theresa Carteris and her husband, Charles, Doreen McGovern and Patricia Torrance, all of Lynn; the step-father of Michelle Dion and Tammy Stoey, both of Wilmington. Tom is also survived by several step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and close friends, especially from the Marine Corps.

Tom’s Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Noon on Monday, February, 8th at the CUFFE-McGINN FUNERAL HOME, 157 Maple St. LYNN. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn.. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, February 7th, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Tom’s memory may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O.
