BEVERLY - Travis Buckless, age 32, unexpectedly passed on the eve of Sunday, January 21, 2018. He was the loving son of devoted parents Will and Paula (Cunningham) Buckless. He leaves behind his four grieving sisters; Tawnya, Tammy, Tanessa, Tiffany; brother Tyler, his nephews; Dillon, Dallas, Dakota, nieces; Tahlia, Kalli, Jessie, Emma, aunts and uncles; Janet and Jerry, Rosalie and Jimmy, Kathy and Mary, cousins and many, many friends.
Travis was born and raised in Lynn, attended Lynn schools, North Shore Community College and studied the culinary arts. As a chef, he was employed by a variety of restaurants, including Life Alive Organic Cafe of Cambridge, the Hill Top of Saugus, the Nahant Country Club and also most recently worked at Dunkin Donuts in Beverly.
Travis enjoyed alternative rock music, creating art, photography, and fashion. At his mom’s house, he was often found cleaning and organizing, planting and growing flowers in her garden.
Travis was a magnetic, smooth, charismatic character. His handsomeness was of a beauty rare. He was often compared to a young Elvis Presley. But, his physical beauty was truly his own, and only out-shown by his true, inner beauty.
He was a kind, loyal, deep, generous and genuine soul. When you talked with him, he was truly interested and connected with you. When he hugged you, you knew you were cared for. When he smiled and laughed, you smiled and laughed. Everyone loved Travis! He would treat strangers as dear friends, and dear friends as family. Without him, our family will never be the same. Our family was whole with him.
Travis was truly a lover of life. We can all emulate his light. Stop the fast-moving pace of everyday life, take some deep breaths, look at the beauty all around us, enjoy it! Really see and engage with the people in front of us, enjoy them! Be your most fabulous self and shine! When we can lift our heads from this devastating loss, look up and see him shining down as a star in the heavens, as his young light still burns.
Visitation will be held for family and friends Sunday, January 28, from 2 to 4:30 pm, followed by a funeral service at 4:30 pm at the Cuffe-McGinn Funeral Home, 157 Maple Street, Lynn.
