Born in Lynn on October 6, 1928, he was the son of the late Earl F. and Bessy (Bowden) Laro. Vernon answered his nation’s call and enlisted in the United States Army and served during World War II.
Prior to his service, Vernon was a Golden Gloves winner with a record of 32 wins, 30 being K.O.’s.
Vernon is survived by his cherished daughter Karen Cardavelli; his sister Bernice Sanchez; 14 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Vernon is predeceased by his children and stepchildren, Stephen Laro, Robert Laro, Robert Janicki, Eileen M. Jackson, Karen Cardona, Linda Bettencourt; and his brothers Franklin D. Laro, Earie Laro, Kenneth Laro, William Laro, and Gordon Laro.
