Virginia Cleary

Born in Peabody, Virginia was the daughter of the late Everett and Grace (Boylan) Warren. She was raised in Peabody, attended Peabody Schools and was a graduate of Peabody High School Class of 1942. She was a member of the United States Coast Guard Spars from 1944-1946.

Prior to her retirement in 1986, she spent over 40 years in the GE Management Department. She was a member of the GE Riverettes, the GE Quarter Century Club and the GE Management Association.

A Communicant of Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Virginia was a member of the Choir, the Our Lady’s Bowling League and the Massachusetts Catholic Woman’s Guild #27. She was also a member of the Explorer’s Club.

Virginia loved knitting but above all, she loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She leaves her daughter, Shirley A. Gallo and her husband Gene of Peabody. She was the sister of Shirley Soucy and her late husband Reynold of Peabody. She leaves her two grandchildren, Jenna Blanchette and her husband David of Methuen and Gino Gallo and his wife Suzanne of Hopedale and four great grandchildren, William and Victoria Blanchette and Vincent and Valerie Gallo. She is also survived by two nieces, one nephew and a large circle of close friends.

Virginia’s Funeral will be held from the CUFFE-MCGINN FUNERAL HOME, 157 Maple St. Lynn on Wednesday at 9:00AM followed by a Funeral Mass in Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Lynnfield at 10:00AM. Relatives and friends invited. Interment Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. Visiting Hours Tuesday 4-8PM. In lieu of flowers, Virginia requested that donations be made to the charity of your choice.
