Virginia was born in Boston, the daughter of the late Virginia (Leger) Tuson. She was educated in Lynn and attended St. Jean Baptiste Elementary School and graduated from St. Mary’s High School, with the Class of 1946. At St. Mary’s, she served as a writer and the editor of the Yearbook and a prefect of its Sodality of Our Lady Virginia worked for the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. for several years until she returned to Lynn to serve as caretaker of her mother, full time. She was also a part time clothing model in Boston. Virginia was best known as being a passionate believer in her Catholic faith. She is remembered for carrying her rosary beads and praying the rosary and even writing a religious poem about Our Lady of Fatima.
Virginia was the beloved first cousin of Jeanne Leger of Swampscott, Ernest Leger of North Carolina, Richard Leger of Marblehead, Robert Leger of Lynn and the late Michael Leger, and their families; She was also the niece of her late uncles, Ernest Leger formerly of Lynn and the Rev. Herbert J. Leger, former longtime pastor of Sainte Anne Parish in Salem.
