Winifred A. Kane

Born in Boston, Winifred was the daughter of the late Owen and Beatrice (Friel) McLaughlin. She was a graduate of Cathedral High School in Boston. She was an employee of the New England Telephone Company.

Winifred was very active in St. Thomas Aquinas Church. She was a Eucharistic Minister, lector and taught CCD. Winifred was also a member of the Third Order of St. Francis. She was a member the Nahant Women’s Club, Woman’s Historical Society and the Sodality at St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Winifred enjoyed traveling to Ireland and Israel, spending time at the beach and going to the Senior Center. She was a Red Sox and Patriots fan and den mother for the Cub Scouts.

She leaves her children, Luke Kane and his wife Judith of NJ; Michael Kane and his wife Holly of Peabody; and Owen Kane of Nahant. She was the loving Grandmother of Eric Kane. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Winifred was predeceased by her brothers; Owen and Dennis McLaughlin.

Winifred’s Funeral will be held at St. Thomas Aquinas Church 248 Nahant Rd., Nahant on Tuesday at 10:00am. Interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery. Visiting Hours Monday, 4-7pm at St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
