

Al was born and raised in Ballard. He attended Ballard High School where he played football. He helped his team become the 1951 State Champions during his senior year, graduating that spring in 1952. Al met his future wife at a football game in West Seattle where she attended high school. They married in 1953 and had four daughters. Al served as a sergeant in the National Guard from 1957 through 1959.
Al attended Edison Technical School and graduated a master painter. Later, he and a business partner, opened Denholme and Mohr, a painting contracting business in Ballard. They painted some iconic Seattle landmarks including the old Metrodome, St. James Cathedral, the Seattle World's Fair, the Museum of Flight, and the VA Hospital.
Al and his family enjoyed many years of fun and entertaining at their summer home on Lake Cavanaugh. He also loved to travel. Al and Delores enjoyed their family, dear friends and wonderful neighbors.
Al is survived by his four daughters, Deanne, Debra, Darcey, and Darlene and her husband Bill. Al was grandpa to six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at Floral Hills Funeral Home in Lynnwood, at 12:30 PM on June 17, 2022. Masks recommended.
In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Ballard High School Foundation, the Athletic Department.
