Anna Marie Hutchins, age 61, passed away peacefully at her Bothell home with her loving husband near her side on September 29, 2010, following a hard fought battle with cancer. Born November 12, 1948 in Vancouver, WA, Anna was the youngest daughter and 2nd youngest child of Thomas Vernon and Helen Clara (Kilburn) Fitzgibbons, both deceased.
Known as an excellent seamstress, Anna enjoyed the simple things in life such as gardening, Sudoku puzzles, country music, crocheting, a hot cup of tea and an English muffin slathered with peanut butter, or a Café Mocha and a box of Red Vines. Those who knew or met her were immediately attracted to her warmth, sincerity, generosity and straight-forward nature. She was a member of the National Ladies Auxiliary, Sons of the American Revolution (NLASAR), and spent countless hours assisting with the distribution of the Society’s state newsletter.
She leaves behind her husband, Richard L. B. Hutchins; son Stephen McConnell of Portland, OR; daughter Wendy McConnell of Sanford, FL; sisters Dolores Lewis of Ontario, OR; Diane (Robert) Cooper of Kingston, WA; Janet (Joseph) McCollum of Portland, OR; Marjorie (Dennis) Whitney of Kingston, WA; brother Thomas Fitzgibbons of Goldendale, WA; step-daughter Carleen Heath and mother-in-law Marilyn Hutchins of Bothell, WA.
A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held October 9th at 4:00 PM at Purdy & Walters at Floral Hills, 409 Filbert Road, Lynnwood.
The family wishes to express heartfelt thanks to the Providence Hospice of Snohomish County for their excellent care and attention, and suggests that memorial donations be made to that organization at 2731 Wetmore Avenue #500, Everett, WA. 98201 (425) 261-4805 or online at www.providence.org/phhc
