

Anne Louine Walker was born November 5, 1937 in Detroit, MI. She died May 6, 2026 in Edmonds, WA. Anne graduated from Florida State University with a degree in mathematics. She was among the first female Junior Engineers hired by a national aerospace company. Her career was later focused on community service as a child welfare social worker for the State of Alabama and later, as executive director of hospice organizations in northern Alabama.
Anne was compassionate toward those in need and worked toward social justice in the world. She volunteered in several organizations including supporting development of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul chapter at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Anne loved writing cards and letters, including sending notes of appreciation to those she met along her path. She was fun-loving, enjoying time with friends and family, shopping, playing cards and going on outings. She was an enthusiastic member of the Red Hat Society. She was an avid reader, devouring books almost faster than she could lay hands on them.
Anne is survived by three children who will miss her dearly: Diana Walker of Chicago IL; Sheila Strehle of Bothell, WA; and Erik Walker of Austin, TX. She joins her son, Brian and her step-grandson, Blake in heaven. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Jodi Walker of Ruskin, FL; son-in-law Edwin Rozic of Chicago; honorary family members Jerry Goodwin of Bremen, AL, Joey Mathis of Madison, AL and Brenda Badgley of Huntsville, AL; four grandchildren, one step-grandchild and three great grandchildren.
