Arlin’s father, Russell, had a butcher shop where she learned the meat cutting business. She was one of the first women to join the newly founded Female Butchers Union, when the program was initially announced at the urging of her father.
Arlin met her first husband, Clyde, when they lived next door as neighbors. They married in 1946, had four girls, and moved to Bothell in 1955. Arlin was a foster mother to many children over the years.
Arlin received her CNA degree and was employed at Steven’s Hospital in Edmonds working in different departments until her position in the Pediatrics Ward where she worked until early retirement to care for her ailing mother, Mary.
She was known for her knitted slippers that she diligently enjoyed along with crocheting Afghans. She also took great pride in her gardening and whenever she was done with her weeding, we were always amazed at the manicured job.
Arlin is preceded in death by her first husband, Clyde in 1973; second husband, Jim in 1999; brother, Robert Fisk in 2012, daughter, Cary Gail in 1969, and her parents.
She is survived by her children; Linda (Mike) Rose, Bothell, WA, Kathy Pottruff, Monroe, WA. Jodee (Kevin) Meyers, Everett, WA.; step-daughter, Kerry Reid; step-son, Mike Reid; 9 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 4 great- great grandchildren; many loving nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
