

Arthur Allen Berryman died peacefully at his home in Alger on February 10th. He was surrounded by his family, passing with a hymn in his voice and holding on to his Bible. Arthur was born on December 2, 1930, in Los Angeles, California to parents Claude and Anna Ella Berryman. Arthur was the second born after his brother Sonny, followed by brothers George and Timothy and sisters Betty, Doris, and Elaine. He served in the Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1960. In 1959, Arthur married the love of his life Ercilia (Amy) Pineda in West Covina, California. In 1966 they moved their family to Washington and in 1972 settled in Alger with their four children. Arthur made a career as a union carpenter. He worked on many projects including the Matterhorn in Disneyland, the Sun Valley Lodge, Grand Coulee Dam and many of the largest buildings in Seattle. Arthur was survived by Amy, his wife of 54 years, his children Eric, Alex and his wife Tammi, Patrick and his wife Diana, and Jeanette and her husband Douglas. He was also survived by grandchildren Alex Jr., Samantha, Stefan, Taylor, Britney, Anna and Emily, great-grandson Edan, and numerous nieces and nephews throughout the United States and Honduras. His greatest joy was to be surrounded by family, especially his grandchildren. Memorial gifts can be made to the Calvary Baptist Church, 324 Avon Ave, Burlington, WA 98233, Life Outreach, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, or a charity of your choice. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, February 17, at Purdy & Walters at Floral Hills, 409 Filbert Road, Lynnwood, WA 98036. Arthur was a wonderful person and will be dearly missed by his family.
