June 3, 1932 - February 13, 2018 - Aubrey Lee Barron, 85, passed away in Everett, WA on February 13, 2018. Born in Andersonville, GA.
Aubrey was a humble and hardworking man who proudly served in the Air Force as a flight engineer, having retired as a Chief Master Sergeant after two wars and 24 years of service. During his Air Force career, he bartered with military personnel for powdered milk and K-rations in order to feed poor villagers and was responsible for flying out the bodies of our fallen soldiers while under enemy fire in Vietnam. Aubrey later worked as a chief engineer for Crowley Maritime, completing 20 years on tugboats in the treacherous Bering Sea.
Aubrey, affectionately known as “Papa” to his 17 grandkids and 12 great-grandkids, is survived by his sister, Betty; and his children, Judie (Jerry), Matt, Joan, Jean, Jill, Jennifer, and Janet. Aubrey was preceded in death by his wife, Rae, with whom he raised eight children and three grandchildren; and his son, Mark, among other close loved ones.
A graveside service will he held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at Floral Hills Cemetery, 409 Filbert Road, Lynnwood, WA 98036 with a reception to follow.

He was a great man, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He knew at the end that the people who surrounded him truly LOVED and CARED for him. Rest in Peace...

He was my father, whom I alone took care of for the last almost four years. It was a honor. My father worked hard to provide for his family. I was lucky to get to know him so well. I know he left this World knowing I loved him. Joanie
