Berla Jean Pelham, 82, of Woodinville, passed away Nov. 9 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Pasco, Washington in 1941, to Harold and Erma Crockett. Berla married the love of her life and best friend, Donald Pelham, in 1973. Their 50th wedding anniversary was November 15, 2023
Warm and charismatic, Berla was the most loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, and lives on through her children Deborah, Bryon Sr., Cheryl, David, Tammy, Jeanette, Brien, and Donna along with many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Berla retired from Sears after 20 years, and Macys after 15 years, and was beloved by her regulars and coworkers. She was a diligent worker, starting in retail and gift wrapping and finishing her career in human resources. She was sought out by people, because when you were with Berla, you knew you’d be safe, cared for, and everything would be done in your best interest.
She held the type of magic in her heart that made the world a better and brighter place, going above and beyond to make not only holidays and special occasions extra special, but also to make normal days feel special, too. She loved life and when you were with her, it was easy to absorb her, joy, light, and love.
She always joked about “putting on her face,” but to anyone who knew her, she was already the most beautiful person inside and out, with or without her makeup. Berla was genuine and honest. Coworkers often sought her opinion where they knew their ideas would be respected without judgement.
Join us to celebrate her life and pay your respects to our beloved Berla. Service will be held Tuesday November 21, 2023, at 11 am at Purdy & Walters at Floral Hills 409 Filbert Rd Lynnwood, WA 98036.
