When her dad began working as a telegrapher for the Great Northern Railroad in Skykomish in 1940 they moved up there. She graduated from Skykomish High School in 1948 obtaining straight A’s throughout all four years.
Soon after graduation Beth returned to Everett and attended business school. Her first job was working for the telephone company where she made many life-long friends including her best friend Donna Robinett. It was through another friend Wilma (Love) that she met her future husband and love of her life Robert (Bob) Love and they got married on June 27,1953 and lived for many years in Everett.
Beth was a beauty and loved people, family, fashion and dancing. She was frequently compared to Elizabeth Taylor in her younger years. Throughout her life she was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who said her greatest blessings were her two children Randall (Randy) and Vicki. Her first job after returning to the work force was at their school: View Ridge Elementary. They also attended View Ridge Methodist Church (which Bob helped to build) as well as Memorial Community Church.
For decades Bob and Beth went camping and fishing at Spectacle Lake in Eastern Washington. He was known as the rainbow trout king of the lake and she also enjoyed fishing (as long as she caught something), sunbathing, and swimming in the pool.
In 1992 they built their forever home in Marysville, WA with Bob not only drawing the blueprints but also building numerous built-ins throughout their home. Toward the end of her working career she was the bookkeeper and receptionist for Buse Timber and Sales in Marysville.
Frequently clients would come in to see who had that wonderful voice on the phone.
Throughout the years Beth continued to go dancing. In her closet she kept several dancing outfits and shoes. She also enjoyed shopping and especially delighted in the after Christmas sales. Every Saturday she got her hair done and always was fashionable. In addition, she worked for several years at the voting polls. Beth kept in touch with every friend she had and loved to send out cards.
In her later years Beth was diagnosed with Dementia and everything changed. After numerous falls and trips to the hospital Bob made the heartbreaking decision for her to live at Cascade Valley Senior Living. He visited her several times a week until he passed away in March of 2019 and always brought her candy. Her sweet tooth was a constant.
She leaves behind her children Randall Love (Melissa), Vicki Love Grende (Don), grandchildren Amber Love Ostrom (Aaron), Jesse Love (Nikki), Crystal Franck (Brandon), and Adam Thompson (Aria), 6 great grandchildren, brother Elwood Eby (Dorothy), and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by both of her parents and her husband.
Beth’s children would like to thank the wonderful staff at Cascade Valley Senior Living and Providence Hospice for all of the excellent care she received. In lieu of flowers please donate in Beth’s honor to The Alzheimer’s Association, Providence Hospital Hospice, or the charity of your choice.
The family will hold a private service.
