Betty was born in Chico, California on April 19, 1926, to Earl and LaMona Simons. At
an early age, Betty put her trust in Jesus Christ as her Savior and, in later years, would remark that this was the most important decision of her life.
Growing up, many missionaries visited the Simons home which had a profound influence on her life. She walked with, and trusted in, Jesus her entire life.
Betty graduated from Chico High School in 1944. She married John Klebaum, an Army Corporal in September of 1945. Together they had four daughters and a son. She was widowed in January of 1967 when John lost his life while fishing in Alaska. His commercial fishing boat sank in high seas off Marmont Island, northeast of Kodiak, Alaska. Betty married Bob Langberg in 1979. They were married for 27 happy years until Bob’s passing in 2006. He was affectionately known as “PaPa” to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Betty worked for more than 25 years for Frederick and Nelson, retiring in 1993.
She is survived by her four daughters, Judy Elston (Doug), Connie Heyworth (George),
Wendy Ewing, Terri Woodard (Brent), ten grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
A graveside service for Betty will be held Wednesday, October 4, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Purdy & Walters at Floral Hills, 409 Filbert Road, Lynnwood, WA 98036.
