

Dale attended school in Kansas before heading out on his own as a young teenager. He was a veteran of World War II, serving the U.S. Army in Germany and other parts of Europe before earning an Honorable Discharge as Private 1st Class, Headquarters Battery, 805th Field Artillery Battalion. While he was stationed at Fort Warden, WA he met and married Betty K. Ollom August 20, 1943. They were married for 49 years.
After the war, Dale eventually settled his family in Snohomish and worked in the construction industry. Dale and Betty later founded their own construction business, which is still in the family today. They also operated a small family farm in the area now known as King’s Ridge. He belonged to the Carpenter’s Union and the Triway Grange of Snohomish for 60 years.
Dale was preceded in death by his wife Betty in 1993. He is survived by three children, Claudia, Michael, and David, two sisters, Bernice and Elva. He also leaves six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, many extended family members and friends. Dale King will be missed.
A memorial celebration of his life will take place Saturday, June 16, 2012 at Purdy & Walters, Floral Hills gravesite at 11:00 am. Address: 409 Filbert Rd., Lynnwood, WA 98036.
