Daniel Reed Zehrung was born in Seattle Washington on July 24th, 1939. He spent most of his growing up years in Edmonds, graduating from Edmonds High School in 1957. He attended the University of Washington for a while before enlisting in the US Army. He was stationed in Germany for three years of active duty, then continued three more years in the Army Reserves. While working for Boeing he returned to school & completed a degree in computer science. He then worked for the City of Bellevue in Information Services as a programmer/systems analyst/ & data processing manager. The last few years of his career he was assigned to emergency services, primarily the police department, as a data processing systems coordinator. He retired in 1998 after 27 years with the city.
Dan passed away on May 18th, 2020, after a long illness. He was preceded in death by his brother James Zehrung, his daughter Danielle Zehrung, & his grandson Robert Schofield. He is survived by: his wife, Beverly Zehrung, his brother Steven Zehrung, his son Tracy Zehrung, his daughtes Sonya Zehrung, Teresa Zehrung Potashner, & Kimberly Zehrung White; grandsons Raymond & Zachary Michel, Robert Phelps, & Mitchell & Thomas Zehrung; granddaughtes Katherine Michel & Heather Zehrung Miller; great-grandsons Brock Miller, Jayce & Ben Phelps; and great-granddaughters Jayden, Emerson, & Colby Miller, & Zoey, Ren, & Elizabeth Phelps.
