David O. Beck, Sr. passed to his Heavenly Home on Friday, September 21, 2018. Dave had endured the discomforts of several serious illnesses and now is free from pain and suffering. Dave was born to Orville V. Beck and Dorothy (Peterson) Beck. He attended Everett schools, graduating from Everett High School and attended Everett Junior College. Immediately upon graduation from high school, Dave joined the Navy, serving for six years. Dave worked for Chevron for 35 years, filling various positions of greater responsibility, finally working as a member of the Motor Transport Division. Dave was married to Dorothy (Arnevik) Beck for 56 years and from that union three children were born: David, Jr. (Marilyn), Sofia Yonke (Rick) and Matthew (Amy). Dave leaves seven grand-children: Chelsea Deller (Brett), Rachel Fischer (Rob), Lauren Ryland (Todd), Mitchell Beck (Kaitlyn), Allyson Alcorn (Max), Alex Yonke and Kyle Yonke. Dave's seven great grand-children: Aubrey, Jackson, Beck, and Thompson Deller; Julia and David Fischer; Lexi Ryland, and one more Beck on the way. Nothing pleased Dave more or made him more proud than his family. What joy they brought him. Aubrey says, "He was the best GGpa in the world". Dave loved God and his family, but right on the heels of those two was fishing. He enjoyed many trips to Alaska, California, Mexico and Costa Rica with best friend, Dick Davidson. Dave and son-in-law, Rick covered all of Puget Sound, South-east Alaska and fished off the big island of Hawaii. He loved to smoke his fish using his special recipe, and he loved giving the fish away to his family and friends. He was a very generous and helping person. He had the biggest heart! A big thank you to all of Dave's doctors and Hospice for their skillful and compassionate care. On Saturday, October 20, 2018, at 11:00 a.m., a memorial service honoring Dave will be held at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, 215 Mukilteo Boulevard, Everett, WA, 98203. Reception will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests remembrances be made to Providence Hospice and Home Health Care, 2731 Wetmore, Everett, WA, 98201; or Our Saviors Lutheran Church, 215 Mukilteo Boulevard Everett, WA 98203.
