

Delores M. Sparks, age 92, slipped into the arms of Jesus on June 20, 2015, after a valiant battle with old age. She was born and raised in Wisconsin, the oldest daughter of Julius and Lenora Meisner. She married Bonham J. Sparks, Jr., during World War 2 and moved to Victoria, Texas, where she worked at Foster Field repairing trainer airplanes. After a brief stint at Geiger Field in Spokane, they moved to Yakima in the late 1940’s and began raising a family. The family moved to Lynnwood in 1959. Delores retired from Sound Color in Edmonds after a long career supervising the lab. She was a long-time member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church and was active in their Ladies Guild. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bonham, sisters Margie and Phyllis, and brother Morris. Surviving are her daughters Sandra (Mike), Barbara (Peter), Cheryl (Tom), and son Alan (Cathy), and Tom (Darcy). She leaves behind 8 grandchildren whom she loved unconditionally, Michele, Heather, Hillary, Jessica, Alexandra, Paul, Madeline, and Kyle. She loved sewing, making crafts, and playing games and will be dearly missed. Viewing will be held at Purdy & Walters at Floral Hills on Monday, June 29, from 12:00 - 5:00 PM. Graveside service will be on Tuesday, June 30, at 11:00 AM with a memorial service to follow at St. Timothy Lutheran Church, 5124 164th Street SW, Edmonds, WA at 1:00 PM. Refreshments to follow. Memorial donations may be directed to the Ladies Guild c/o St. Timothy Lutheran Church or the Wounded Warriors Project.
