Dorothy and I spent a lot of time together these past years.  She was originally my dad's friend.  My dad and her first husband worked together at Prudential insurance.  My dad and she traveled to some great places.  After my dad passed away, Dorothy and I did things together.  We went to the Seattle Symphony Pops, the Village Theater and even traveled to Alaska together.  We always found things to do.  We each enjoyed a steak once in awhile - along with a Corona beer!  We would split a beer at first and then split another!  HA!  I miss her already.  It is void without her.  She loved Dancing with Stars and liked to compare notes with me.  She loved music.  She had a good life all in all.  She was bound and determined to have some fun in life.  She accomplished a lot in her lifetime.  She traveled and had great times with great friends.  She was so proud of her grandkids. Her granddaughter, Donna, who lived closer to her got to spend more time with her.  She was an independent woman.  She lived as she wanted.  She never had to go to a convalescent home except when she broke her hip.  She had a very comfortable apartment that was decorated as she wanted.  I am glad I had time to spend with Dorothy.  My condolences go out to her family.

Dorothy and I worked side by side for many years and grew old together.  We didn't see each other often lately because we both had problems with mobility but we knew where each other was.  We always treeated each other on our birthdays  I'm sorry to have lost her but treasure all the memories we had.

Mom passed away at her home in Shoreline.  She fought hard until the end, but just didn't have the strength to continue any longer.  She was 91 years young, did not ever think she was old.  She was born in Great Falls, Montana, the daughter of Charles and Hattie Leslie.  Mom had an active childhood and grew up in Great Falls, where she attended high school.  She moved to the Seattle area soon after graduation from high school.  Mom married and had two sons shortly after moving to Seattle.  She lived most of her adult life in the Seattle area (Mercer Island, Edmonds, Everett).  She lived a few years in California (Vacaville and Palm Springs).  Mom is survived by her sons, Lorin (wife Barbara), of Indianapolis, and Richard (wife Sherry), of Shoreline, as well as 5 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.  Grandchildren - Donna, Stephen, David, Derek, and Lori.  Although she had many jobs through the years, she was proudest of her years working for the State of Washington, in the Employment Security Division - helping the unemployed.  Mom loved to travel and took many trips and cruises around the world.  She saw much of Europe, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central America, as well as the big cities of China and Japan.  The last couple of years she enjoyed taking train trips to California.  She was proud of her family and friends, and kept in touch with many through the years, even when separated by long distances.        With love, her son, Buzz
