

Earl is survived by his brother Francis Dean; sisters Eula McAllister, Iris Kramer and Mary Falk; children, George Dean, Cheryl (Art) Brenenstahl, Norman Dean, Kevin (Lisa) Dean, and Beverly (Kyle) Winsor, Grandchildren Austin Brenenstahl, Chase Dean, Paige Winsor and Grace Winsor. Earl was preceded in death by his parents Earl S. Dean and Martha Dean, brothers Don Delvin, and Harold Dean, sisters Ethel Dean, Margaret Brown, and Annie Saballa
He will be remembered for his sense of humor and his work ethic. As a young man, Earl was an authentic cowboy, taming horses and driving cattle. He also performed in rodeos, once winning silver spurs in Madison Square Garden. As a native of Nevada, he loved to play cards and shoot craps.
Earl had a long career as a truck driver and diesel mechanic. He traveled the country in his various trucks, gathering many interesting and hilarious stories. Earl always made friends in the truck stops, asking other truckers where they were headed. His reply was always, “That’s a long way to go if you gotta walk.” Earl was well known along his most frequent routes from Southern California to Alaska.
He was a partner in Washington Trucking which operated out of the family home on Manor Way in the 1970s. He also owned Transport Diesel Repair in Issaquah in the early 1980s.
