Elinor Joyce Mohoric, 87, passed away peacefully April 29, 2012 at her home on Camano Island. Born February 28, 1925, in Chehalis, Washington, she was the second of four daughters born to Austin and Hazel Duncan.
She met her husband, Edward Mohoric, in the first grade and married him in 1947. She is survived by him, their four children: Kaye (Peter) Sodt, Tom, Russell (Therese), and Leslie (Kevin).Lince. They, and her four grandchildren: Elizabeth, Joseph, Stephanie and Heather will miss her very much.
During WWII when Joyce’s health prevented completion of her training as a nurse, she worked in the Army Finance Corps at Camp Beale, California. Her clerical experience served her well as she provided many years of billing and receivables support for Mohoric’s Gardening. She very much enjoyed traveling the country in a succession of recreational vehicles and she was accomplished at a number of handicrafts, but her greatest joy was found when gathering her family around her—especially for holidays and special occasions.
The family would like to express their gratitude for the extraordinary care she received from Dr. C.J. Kuan, and Debbie Woodard, and the dedicated staff of the Kidney Center. Remembrances may be made in Joyce’s name to the Skagit Valley Kidney Center, 208 Hospital Parkway, Mt. Vernon, WA 98273.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, May 7, at Purdy & Walters at Floral Hills, 409 Filbert Road, Lynnwood, WA with a reception to follow at Shoreline Free Methodist Church, 510 NE 175th Street, Shoreline, WA.
