She was born to Ricardo and Paulina Hidalgo on October 12, 1932 in San Quinten, Philippines. Ester chased her dreams as a schoolteacher in the Philippines where she met her husband Ludovico Larican. Together they had 5 children: Jocelyn, Darwin, Maribel, Marivic and Lucita.
Ester’s husband Ludovio worked seasonally in the fishing industry in Alaska and Washington which allowed the family to immigrate to the United States in 1977, building a loving home in Seattle Washington.
Ester was a devoted church member of Iglesia ni Cristo and lived her life with a strong faith in God. She loved tending to her lush rose garden and spending time in the kitchen creating fresh delicious meals for the family.
Following their retirement, Ester and her loving husband spent their golden years alternating between their homes in the United States and the Philippines. They shared time and gifts with many relatives and people in their neighborhoods. Her generosity and gracious smile were infectious and will always be remembered.
Ester is survived by her husband, Ludovico, her brothers Jovino and Amado, and sister Prescila along with her five children, Jocelyn, Darwin, Maribel, Marivic, and Lucita and their spouses, Richard, Tami, Steve, and Lonny. Her grandchildren include Angela, Erika, Clairbel, Jordan, Alexis, Jessica, Kristina, Niki, Brandon and Tyler and their spouses Paul, Zachariah, Megan, and Ryan. Ester was blessed with two precious great-grandchildren, Penelope and Luca. Ester will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and everyone who knew her.
