Capt Fillmore G. Koenig, Jr, 92 yrs old, Born Feb 9, 1920 in Chicago, IL and died Jan 6, 2013 in Redmond, WA. He grew up in southern California near Anaheim. At 17 he joined the navy and remained there for 35 years. The Navy was his love and he became an aviator in 1943. Stationed in the Pacific he survived air combat in Guada Canal and Midway Island. He received the Distinguished Flying Cross in the turning point in WWII the Battle of Midway Island. He enlisted as a sailor and retired as a Navy Captian. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 65 yrs Ruby Koenig and daughter, Pamela Koenig. He is survived by his daughter; Marilyn Redding and granddaughter.
