Born in Everett, Washington on December 14, 1946, Gary lived a life marked by a deep love for his family, the outdoors, and the Pacific Northwest. Throughout his career in the construction industry, Gary was known for his dedication to his craft and the pride he took in his work. His skill and commitment were recognized with several construction awards, reflecting the respect he earned from colleagues and within the industry.
Outside of work, Gary found joy in life’s simple moments—especially time spent outdoors and with his family. He was a devoted fan of the Washington Huskies football team and rarely missed a chance to cheer them on. He could always be found head to toe in Husky gear.
But nothing meant more to Gary than his family. He was always there for them, whether on the sidelines of a soccer game, celebrating a milestone, or sharing everyday moments filled with laughter and encouragement. His pride in his family was evident to everyone who knew him, and his love was unwavering.
Gary loved the ocean and had a special fondness for dolphins. Some of his happiest times were spent visiting the coast, camping at La Push, and kayaking through the peaceful waters of the Arboretum in Seattle. Nature brought him a sense of calm and adventure that he carried throughout his life.
He is lovingly remembered by his children, Keith Pennock and his wife Danielle, Paulette Carstens and her partner Christopher; his stepdaughter, Sasha Langendoerfer; and his beloved grandchildren, Madison Pennock, Chloe Pennock, Luke Carstens, Madi Carstens, Katie Langendoerfer and Isabella Soares. He cherished his role as a father, grandfather, and good friend to many. His family and friends will remember him fondly for the time they shared together and the memories they created along the way.
Gary will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.
