Jo was born on July 3, 1936, in Seattle, Washington, to George and Vera Miller. She passed away peacefully on January 12, 2025, surrounded by love.
Jo was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Robert Miller, and sister, Jeanne Mosman. She grew up in North Seattle, where she met Darrell at a church event for servicemen docked in Seattle while he was in the Navy. It was love at first sight, and they married on June 11, 1955.
Jo and Darrell began their life together in Long Beach, California, where Darrell completed his naval deployment. Shortly after, they returned to Seattle, making it their lifelong home. Their marriage of 60 years was a beautiful partnership filled with love and shared adventures. Jo and Darrell cherished their annual visits to family in Kentucky and their love of cruising and traveling, exploring all 50 states and many countries worldwide. Jo continued her travels even after Darrell's passing, honoring their shared passion for seeing the world.
Jo began her career at the Fuller Paint & Brush Company but found her greatest joy as a homemaker and proud mother to three children. Her faith was central to her life, and she was deeply involved in her church community, particularly in children's ministry. She also served faithfully as a church secretary and bookkeeper, leaving a legacy of dedication and service.
Jo's greatest pride and joy was her family. She leaves behind a loving and close-knit family: her children Jerry (Cindy), Steve (Laurie), and Connie (Tom); her grandchildren Stefanie (Brandon), Jeremy (Marissa), Tyler (Kelli), Jordan (Rachel), Jessica (Andy), and Lindsey; and her great-grandchildren Malachi, Elliott, Emmie, Ellie, Ezra, Elsa, Tucker, Cami, Judah, Rainier, and Kenzie.
Jo's life was marked by her faith, love for her family, and zest for life's adventures. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her and will forever remain in our hearts.
