I just heard about Gian’s passing. Gian and my paths crossed for two reasons; we were both part of the deaf community and both part of the UPS family. I always found great joy in being able to interpret for Gian at UPS. It was always a point of pride to be able to use and display my heritage. It is one of the few things I missed when leaving UPS. I am grateful to Gian for that. One of the many things that was great about him was his sense of humor and laughter. I loved hearing his laugh. He was always trying to lighten the mood at work and always trying to solicit laughs from the rest of us. Praying for all the Gelicame family for God to provide peace and understanding in the days ahead.  



I remember Gian always being able to lighten the mood. Work was not always fun, but he found ways to help bring smiles to the people around him.
One of my favorite memories of him was when I returned to work after my Dad passed away. As soon as he saw me, he gave me a big hug. I don’t remember how sad I looked but it didn’t matter. He knew I needed some reassurance in that moment. I will always be thankful to him for reaching out in that way.


Gian was one of the most memorable people that we hold very close to our hearts. Many acts of services have been provided by him and we have appreciated every last one of them. Gian was an incredibly loving, considerate, and caring person as he has assisted us numerous times. Even the little things he has done with us are cherished greatly. The Ruiz family sends our condolences and wishes he’s at peace.
