

Born on May 23, 1937, in Seoul, South Korea, to Sung Bae Kim and Su Myung Park, Hu Hyun lived a life marked by integrity, devotion, and quiet strength. A graduate of Kyunggi High School (1957) and Yonsei University (1960), he carried an enduring curiosity and discipline that shaped both his personal and professional life.
In 1962, Hu Hyun married the love of his life, Jong Hwan Bae. A devoted and humble husband, he quietly put his wife’s needs above his own throughout their life together, building a partnership rooted in respect, affection, and unwavering devotion—a bond that sustained them for more than six decades.
In 1980, Hu Hyun and his family immigrated to the United States, where he built a new life through resilience and dedication. For over forty years, he owned and operated small businesses, earning the admiration of all who knew him for his honesty, work ethic, and steadfast character.
Above all, Hu Hyun was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. His quiet strength and gentle heart left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Jong; his sons, Jaemin (wife Mikyung) and Jaeho; his daughter, Christy (husband Jonghyuk); and his grandchildren, Peter, Dyna, David, and Juno.
A memorial to honor and celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Purdy & Walters at Floral Hills, beginning with a funeral service at 11 a.m., with the burial taking place immediately afterward.
Hu Hyun Kim will be deeply missed and forever remembered with love.
