Irene was born in Turtle Lake, North Dakota to Gustav and Anna Marie (Schlichenmayer) Graf. She was the second to youngest of 11 children. She married Emil “Bud” Anderson February 17, 1946. They had 62 years together before Bud’s death.
Irene worked several different jobs and retired from Blue Cross Insurance Co. She did furniture restoration and refinishing for herself and family, sewing and baking, and was always ready to give a helping hand to anyone who needed it.
She is survived by her children, Arla French (husband Richard), Bruce Anderson and Cheryll Isham; five grandchildren, Shaun Bandazy (husband Todd), Carrie Simmons (Jon), Brian French (wife Amoura), Amber Morison (husband Ryan) and Kelsey Anderson; four great grandchildren, Frank Simmons, Anthony Simmons, Joshua Bandazy and Jordan Bandazy; sisters, Hilda Alm, Elsie (husband Ken) Brons, Amelia Plienis, Lorentine (husband Alvin) Terry, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, Feb. 18, 2011 at Purdy & Walters at Floral Hills, with visitation one hour prior to service. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Cemetery.
