James Frederick Blair

James Frederick (Jim) Blair passed away peacefully on July 3, 2018 surrounded by his loved ones. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn L. Blair; his children, James Blair, Michelle Blair Mezzone, and Nicholas Blair; his children by marriage, Tina Townsend Johnston, William Townsend, Ginger Dahl, and Amanda White; and many beloved grandchildren.

Jim was born in Seattle, Washington on May 20, 1943. He grew up in nearby Brier and spent most of his life in the Seattle area. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. After returning home, he spent the next 45 years as a dispatcher for Associated Sand & Gravel and then Watson Asphalt, retiring for good from the latter in 2006. He also spent more than 20 years at the Everett Marina living on his cherished boat, the "Sea Me Now, on which he often sailed the Sound and the San Juan Islands.

He will be missed by many. In lieu of flowers, contributions to St. Jude Children's Hospital are appreciated.

So sorry to hear of James' passing. I knew he and Marilyn only as "customers" of Ace Hardware Evergreen Way. I didn't get to know him all that well, but what I did know of James was that he was a kind man with a loving wife. My sincerest condolences to the Marlilyn and the family.
