James Bruce Cornwall, age 64, was born November 2nd, 1955 in Coupeville, WA and left us unexpectedly on May 18th, 2020 in Mountlake Terrace, WA. During his last years, he battled diabetes and kidney problems. Jim was the third child of six children born to Ralph and Ruth Cornwall. He grew up in a military family and thus had many homes throughout his life time. The family made Lakewood, WA their home when they returned from Germany in 1971. Jim graduated in 1974 from Lakes High School in Lakewood, WA and then attended the University of Washington Seattle in the fall of 1974. He graduated in 1978 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. Following graduation, Jim worked at the University of Washington’s Early Childhood Development program as their business administrator and retired in 2012. He moved to the Mountlake Terrace in 1991.

Growing up, Jim was active in the Boy Scouts of America and earned the rank of Life Scout. He was an avid hiker, camper and later on became very active in kayaking. He loved kayaking on the Wenatchee River, near Wenatchee, WA. He also enjoyed watching football, especially UW and the Seahawks.

He is survived by brother Wayne Cornwall and wife Suekii, brother Charles Cornwall and husband Manuel, sister Mary (Cornwall) Healey, brother David Cornwall and wife Debra, sister Nancy (Cornwall) Rohona and husband Mike, several nieces and nephews as well as several great nieces and nephews. It was pleasant to work with Jim back in the EEU, Jim was such a great person that he will go the extra mile to help you resolve the issues. He will be greatly missed and will always remain in our hearts.

We had the pleasure of Jim's company as we shared a rental house in Ravenna area over 40 years ago. It was a funky older "college rental" where Jim had the barely improved basement space. Lots of fun and gatherings as we all started our post-college occupations. Through the years of staying connected, we appreciated Jim's strong independent personality and shared his passion for Garcia and Grateful Dead music.
RIP Jim, we will miss you.

Jim was such a fun "big kid" growing up, always nice to us "little kids"! And a great example of respecting the outdoors and enjoying life! He's now with Aunt Ruthie and Uncle Ralph, and no more pain for him! I'll really miss him!

Sad to see you go. It’s been fun over the years to catch up on each other’s adventures when we would see each other. I’m thankful you came to visit me while I was recovering from my back injury. God bless you and Rest In Peace.
Love your cousin
