On June 21, 2015 Jim passed away peacefully in the arms of his family. Jim was a caring, gentle man, full of humor, he showed his love through his actions. Jim was a very patient and supportive father and grandfather. He found joy in carving, photography; he loved a good round of golf, and meeting the ROMEOs (Retired Old Men Eating Out) for coffee in the mornings. But more than all these, he cherished his wife, Diane of 53years. A Gentleman by nature, he always looked for ways to meet her needs. Jim was born in Baltimore, Maryland in 1938. He was very active in his family and community and well liked by all who met him. A Staff Sergeant in the Air Force her met his wife at a USO event in Everett, Washington and they married in 1962. Jim and Diane have three sons, James III (Debbie), Douglas (Kathy), and Chris (Kristen); as well as six grandchildren, Joshua (Liz) Killian, Nolan, Douglas Jr., Kenedee and Emma. He also leaves his "Older" sister, Janet (Frank) Martel and brother, John McGuire who lived back in Maryland, as well as a giant fun loving family back east. He was preceded in death by his father, James Sr., mother, Ruth, and sister, Geraldine Porter. Those who knew him will always remember his two favorite lines "Yes Dear" and "Lots a luck".
