Janet was born January 8, 1939 in San Jose, CA as the second child of Wayne Taylor and Dorothy Adamson Taylor. She lived in San Jose until 1998 when she moved to Mill Creek, WA.
Janet married the love of her life, Ira De’Wayne States, in the LDS Salt Lake City Temple on June 19, 1961. Together they lived a life of love and service to community, church and family. Janet worked as an Elementary School Teacher and had a great love of teaching, especially helping her 1st graders learn to read. Janet was a gifted pianist who played the piano from the time she was a child. She passed on her love of music and piano playing to her grandchildren.
Janet is survived by her mother, Dorothy Adamson Taylor (102, of Mill Creek, WA); children, David (Sheila) States and Julie States; and her grandchildren, Brittany (Mike) Rudd, Brandon States and Dylan States. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ira D. States, her brother, Louis Taylor and her father.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Mill Creek Building, 16124 35th Ave SE, Mill Creek, WA. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. , at Oak Hill Memorial Park in San Jose, CA where she will be laid to rest.
