Joshua Caleb Humiston

Joshua Caleb Humiston, 9, beloved son of Mark and Sarah Humiston, went to be with the Lord on October 21, 2024. Born on May 1, 2015, Josh was named in honor of the fathers of the faith who entered the Promised Land. A budding disciple of Jesus Christ who greatly loved his family, Josh enjoyed attending the children’s ministry at his home church, Taylor Creek, and his studies at Heritage Homeschool Co-op and Legacy Homeschool Center. He treasured being at home and playing with his brothers and sisters—especially trampoline jumping, fort-building in the yard, LEGOs, air hockey, and boating on Lake Alice. He tended to his chores with cheerfulness, and particularly loved to help his mom in the garden. Josh had an inquisitive mind and an infectious smile. He enjoyed taking things apart and putting them back together, and he would often make silly faces to cheer up his siblings when they felt sad. He shared a love for music with his parents and siblings, was a promising student of piano, and loved playing soccer. Josh also displayed great affection for animals and enjoyed caring for the family’s pets. Josh is survived by his brother Andrew; sister Brielle; maternal grandmother Kathryn Ogden; maternal uncle Joseph Ogden; paternal grandparents Mark and Beverly Humiston; and paternal uncles and aunts Scott and Erin Humiston, and Jose and Emily Humiston Sanchez.
