Judy was born on April 26, 1937 to Attilio and Katherine Brandolini of Vancouver, BC. She had one sister, Shirley, who was six years older than she and the family lived on the east side of the city for most of her childhood. Judy attended Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Primary School and graduated from Britannia High School in 1954. Not long after graduating, she met Mel Ayers, a jeweler, with whom she fell in love and they married on July 7, 1956. They moved to Coquitlam, BC where in 1959 they welcomed their first born, a son, Mitch. In 1963 the family left Canada and moved to the US where their 2nd child, a daughter, Alayna, was born in 1964. Judy enjoyed being a homemaker for the next several years. She began a career in retail sales and worked for the Nordstrom Company for over 10 years while continuing to support Mel by working alongside him in their business, Capital Mfg. Jewelers.
Judy was a devout Catholic and her faith was extremely important to her. She traveled the world participating in many religious pilgrimages, strengthening her faith even more. Judy then began a volunteering mission up in the Blaine area where she and Mel had moved, prior to his death in 1994. Her mission included Eucharistic Minister at St. Anne’s in Blaine as well as helping out at the local clothing bank and senior center. Judy ministered to many in her lifetime. She enjoyed traveling, reading, spending time with family and friends but mostly, being a grandma.
Judy is preceded in death by her parents Attilio and Katherine Brandolini, her husband of 37 years, Mel, and her sister and brother-in-law Shirley and Ed Shippit. She is survived by her son Mitch Ayers (Linda), her daughter Alayna Railton (Robert), granddaughters Taylor Cole (Logan Bass) and Kassie Dulin (Nick), and grandsons Brandon Cole and Weston Railton (Kyleigh). Great grandchildren include Syrus Saidali, Cole and Kaia Dulin.
Judy will be missed terribly and forever in our hearts.
